My name is Justin Chalfant, and I’m the founder here at Patch My PC. I want to share some changes to our pricing model, and more importantly, why we are making these changes. Since founded in 2013, this will be our first per-device subscription increase ever.
Starting in 2020, the following pricing changes are applicable:
- Enterprise Plus = $3.50 per device annually | Increase of $.50 per device annually
- The

for the following subscriptions have changed:
- Basic = $999 annually | Increased by $499 annually
- Enterprise = $1,499 annually | Increased by $499 annually
- Enterprise Plus = $2,499 annually | Increased by $999 annually

Why Is the Enterprise Plus Subscription Increasing?
Here are a few factors in this decision:
- We’ve added 45 new products in the last 15 months
- Improved to create Configuration Manager applications instead of packages
- Shipped over 75 new features
- Microsoft Intune Win32 application management
Why Is Our Yearly Starting Price Increasing?
We’ve updated the

of all subscriptions. We feel our updated starting prices are appropriate due to the time savings and security benefits that are applicable to any size environment.
On average, our customers have 92 products enabled for software update publishing from a list of over 300 and each of these products has approximately six updates per year. We recently ran a poll on Twitter and it takes about 4.5 hours to package an application manually.
How long would manually packaging a #ConfigMgr application with the following configurations take?

How does Patch My PC Justify the Starting Price for Smaller Companies?
Another common question we get from customers with lower device counts is why Patch My PC has a starting/minimum pricing associated with each of our software subscriptions. We understand the starting price can seem pricey for lower device counts at first glance, but I want to cover why we did this in more detail. There is a starting price because regardless of device count (both small and large), there will be massive time-savings and security benefits from our product.
Starting Price – Time Savings Justification
On average (regardless of device count), each customer publishes 1,329 updates and applications per year. Based on a customer survey on Twitter, it takes, on average, about 4.5 hours to package, test, and deploy an application manually. The time savings for a large customer or a small customer would be similar at around 5,980 hours saved. The starting price of our top-level Enterprise Plus subscription is $2,499 per year. Based on time saved, the cost of Patch My PC’s starting price would be $0.42 per hour. The up-front time savings benefit would be applicable for a customer with 30 devices about the same as large enterprises.
Starting Price – Security Benefits Justification
The average number of CVEs published per customer a year is also 1,553.
Starting Price – Free Support Justification
Regardless of your size, you will receive top-tier in-house support. We focus heavily on providing an excellent support experience for all customers, which does not require any premium support subscription upgrade. If you review our customer reviews, you will see great support experiences are a common trend. You can also review feedback on social media about experiences from our customers.
I hope this helps explain why there is a starting price. I think it makes the most sense to compare the starting price against time saved vs. a per-device cost compared to larger customers since it’s not a 1:1 comparison of cost per-device, but more time savings value for smaller environments.
I’m an Existing Customer, What About my Renewal?
If you are an existing customer where the new starting price would impact your planned budget for the year, we can waive the increased starting price for one year and use the previous starting price.
