Staring with Java 8 Update 20, Oracle’s Java installers will no longer automatically remove previous versions of Java 8 Update X during a silent installation.
This means there may be multiple version of Java 8 installed on a machine.
Java now offers the uninstallation of previous Java 8 versions during a GUI based installation or using their Java applet available here: http://java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp
We will be looking into adding the ability to uninstall previous versions of Java 8 using our wrapper script in a future catalog release.
