In this video, we’ll cover the branding application, what it is and how it works. The branding app in Patch My PC Cloud allows you to configure your company’s branding, which is shown to users whenever software is installed or updated using Manage Conflicting Processes notifications.
Hi, my name is Chris. I’m a customer engineer here at Patch My PC and today we’re going to be looking at the branding app. So as I’m building out my one password deployment, there is this option here to notify the users to close the application. Before we select this, we do need to build out that notification so I can build it here under settings and branding. So let’s go ahead and open that.
I’m going go ahead and add a branding app here. Now, the idea behind this is, again, we’re just going to prompt the user so that they can close and update that software if it needs to be closed or snooze if now is not a good time. I’m going to name this the Patch My PC Branding app. That will be what it looks like when it lands in Intune. And I’m going to upload my own logo here. You can upload whatever logo you want here. Now, generally, you want to pick something that your users recognize.
You can also modify the text here in this. So this entire section is fully customizable to your environment and whatever your preferences are. But again, the idea behind this is we’re just giving the users the option to close or snooze if now is not a good time to update the software. Now under assignments, we do require assignments here. You can test this out in a limited fashion first.
before sending it to all your devices, or you can send it to all devices, or you can even create multiple groups with multiple different branding apps that see different things based on what app they’re in or what group they’re in. Go ahead and save that. So again, as this is being built, it will create that application in Intune. So I should be able to refresh this. And there it is. There’s my Patch My PC branding app, and that will go to all devices.
