Hi there, my name is Hugo. I’m a customer engineer here for Patch My PC. And today I’m going to talk to you about users and how you can invite additional users or groups or even external entities to also access your Patch My PC cloud portal. So first we need to expand the settings tab here on the left, then click on the actual users. And this is where you would then manage this whole thing. And you have two options, as I said before, so you have the choice to either invite a user individually,
by clicking here, or you can also invite a group. So first, let’s start off with the invite a user option. So here, you would actually need to fill out the details, such as the actual name of the person, the last name is optional, but also the email and then the actual role. So I’m going to select my details here. There we go. And then on the roles, if you actually hover the little eye icon in front of it, you will have a few more details about what that specific role actually grants them access to, right?
So it goes all the way up from the least privilege on top, all the way up to the highest privilege on the bottom, which is going to be full admin with access management. So this means that whoever has these permissions will be able to manage everything, including adding or removing users as well. So once you click on the invite, this person will now get an email address where they can have a magic link to just click on and then sign up within the Patch My PC portal. Now,
Another option if you want to invite multiple people at once, rather than inviting them one by one, is you can also click here on the add a group option, and this will list any of your existing groups that you have within your tenant. And you can just select either one or multiple groups, and you can then choose from the dropdown which role you actually would like to grant them access to. So very easy way to actually manage the permissions if you have dynamic groups that maybe change members often or frequently.
Now, one thing to note though is that if you invite groups, these people will not be getting any email notification. Okay, so you should inform them or let them know that they can now go directly into portal.patchmypc.com and they can sign up using your own credentials. And that’s it, that’s all for today.
