Hi alanm,

Are you attempting a new install of the Patch My PC Publisher? There was a bug where the secrets, such as the Intune application registration secret, would not be saved in the correct format on the first UI open for a new install. We released a fix for that today. Can you try downloading the latest publisher msi (can be found here: https://patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-publisher-production-version-2-1-24-0-released) and reattempting the install? If you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to us at [email protected] for further assistance.

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum. We have a guide on how to use the Patch My PC Publisher in a disconnected environment that might be helpful to review: https://patchmypc.com/how-to-use-patch-my-pc-in-a-disconnected-environment-without-internet. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Hi Brentmaham,

We are not currently FEDRamp certified. However, we are ISO 27001 certified.

We do support GCC High tenants for our Intune integration. More information can be found here: https://docs.patchmypc.com/installation-guides/intune/azure-app-registration#:~:text=If%20the%20associated%20tenant%20is%20on%20GCC%20High%2C%20the%20changes%20below%20are%20required%3A

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]

Hi Altu,

Thanks for your post. For your first question, we use the greater than or equal to check in our detection methods to prevent old versions of deployed software from downgrading later versions. Are you using our Publisher with ConfigMgr, Intune or both? If you're using it with ConfigMgr, are you also using the updates for third-party apps?

For your second question, a majority of our apps are system-wide installers. Those apps will install in the system context when deployed to the client. We do support some user-based apps and those will install in the user context.

For your third question, if you change the detection method to a published app when a new version becomes available, that new version will have our detection method.

I think it might be helpful to go over these questions on a call. Please use the following link to schedule a free call with us at your convenience: https://patchmypc.com/environment-review-call.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. To help us do further troubleshooting, please send the following logs from a few client devices where the update is failing to [email protected]:

%ProgramData%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs\PatchMyPC-ScriptRunner.log
This may be found in the %ProgramData%\PatchMyPC\ if the Install was initiated by the user from Company Portal.
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs\PatchMyPC-SoftwareDetectionScript.log
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs\PatchMyPC-SoftwareUpdateDetectionScript.log
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Logs\AgentExecutor.log
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Logs\IntuneManagementExtension.log
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPC\PatchMyPC-UserNotification.log
%ProgramData%\PatchMyPC\UISettings\UINotificationSettings.xml
Note: Some Patch My PC log files listed above may be found in %WinDir%\CCM folder if that folder exists.

Please also include the MSI logs for Chrome. They should be in the following path on the client: %ProgramData%\PatchMyPCInstallLogs

Hi PS_Alex,

We just released a preview build with fixes to this bug: https://docs.patchmypc.com/release-history/production-releases/preview-releases#2.1.16.54-2023-08-29. To enable preview builds, you just need to go to the "About" tab of the Patch My PC Publisher and tick the checkbox "Install preview builds" and then click on "Upgrade now".

Let us know if there's anything further we can do to assist.

Thanks!

Hi Highstream,

We released the latest version of Opera 102 yesterday in our catalog (https://patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-catalog-update-08-23-23). Please let us know if you are not seeing the latest version in the Patch My PC Publisher.

If you no longer want to publish new versions of Opera, you can uncheck that app in the publisher. That will ensure it is no longer published moving forward.

If you want to stop clients from scanning against that update, you can Decline the update with our Modify Published Updates Wizard. More information can be found here: https://patchmypc.com/modify-published-third-party-updates-wizard#decline.

If you run into any issues or have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].

Thanks

Hi gzrock,

Yes, Patch My PC will work with that setup. You will need to make the updates show on the downstream WSUS as well, though. We do have a script that can help with that: https://github.com/PatchMyPCTeam/CustomerTroubleshooting/blob/Release/PowerShell/Set-PatchMyPCUpdateVisibility.ps1

We'd be happy to show you how the Patch My PC Publisher integrates with WSUS in a demo. Please feel free to schedule a call with us at your convenience: https://patchmypc.com/schedule-live-demo.

I hope that information was helpful. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi JustAnotherUser,

Thanks for reaching out. I confirmed with our catalog team that we do have the latest version from this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/security-update-april-2023.html. If you run into any issues with publishing or have any further questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Sounds good. If you run into any issues, please feel free to open a technical support case with us: https://patchmypc.com/technical-support.

Yes, the requirement on the Intune app should allow the app to install only if no other version of the app is there. Then the Intune update will be able to install based on how you set up your assignment. I would recommend testing this first before deploying to production devices.

Hi Swindmiller,

We don't have a good built-in way to handle this at the moment, but you can use a requirement rule on the Intune App to not install if ANY version of the application you're deploying is found. Then by default, we can carry over that requirement rule when there's a new version of that app published to your tenant. If you'd like to schedule a call with us to go over this further as well as any other questions you may have, please feel free to use the following link: https://patchmypc.com/environment-review-call.

To update the contents of the app in ConfigMgr or Intune, you'll want to republish the application. You can do a republish by right-clicking at the individual app level or at the All Products level and selecting Republish during next sync schedule(https://patchmypc.com/custom-options-available-for-third-party-updates-and-applications#republish-updates).
Once you have done that, either run a manual sync from the Sync Schedule tab or wait for the next time your Publisher instance is configured to run.
