Hello all,

I have come across this little bugger of an error and I was not getting smarter out of the error description.
Reinstalled it a couple of times with different version, but sadly I am unable to use it from here :-X

Any suggestions or help?

Best Regards!

Hello Justin,
yes, I still see it as of now, just reinstalled it as well to properly test it

Would you be able to send the PatchMyPCHomeUpdater.log, by defaults it's in "C:\ProgramData\Patch My PC"

Exactly the same here since v5.0.5.0 and v5.0.7.0.

Addendum:

a) when I start the app I get the message "Error rading JObject from JsonReader. Path '', line 0, position 0". However, looking at the task manager I can see the app listed as running

b) when the app is running as per a) (although not showing the UI) and I start it again I get the alert: "Application already running. Please either use the application already running or Exit/Stop the running application then start a new one.". Needless to say "Exit/Stop" does not work since the UI is not visible. To retry I need to kill the task from the task manager. But that does not help - the message as per a) reappears.

I un-/reinstalled the app several times to no avail.

Looking forward to a solution.

Best regards

Hi i have The same issue with the new version 5.0.7.0 too.

I might have found the culprit: under "[systemdrive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Patch My PC" I deleted file "app-settings.json" (incidentally with a size of 0KB). It seems to run now...

Dan is right, tried it and it instantly worked!

Thanks a lot mate!
Hopefully it can be fixed with a quick patch :)
