Patch My PC listed twice in Products
« on: October 22, 2019, 07:19:06 AM »
Hello

I'm seeing Patch My PC twice in the products.
Might this come from the former trial catalog used without the Publishing Service?
Hwo can I cleanup this?

Thanks
Heinz

This can happen when you perform an inplace upgrade of your WSUS server? Like going from 2012 to 2016 or 2016 to 2019 did that happen?

Yes, this is exactly what happened.
I tested the inplace upgrade in my lab not thinking about WSUS.
What's the correct way? I need to do the same in the production environment.

Is it's actually not supported to do an in-place upgrade of the WSUS server OS unless you fully remove WSUS before with regards to Microsoft support.

With that said. We did this in one of our labs and things worked fine with the exception of the duplicate Patch My PC vendor. We've just been using both vendors and that's the easier workaround. We've just made sure that ADRs and searches include both vendor names.
