Telus Business Connect

It looks to me like the installer for the Telus app doesn't reflect what is actually the current app. It should be a purple icon, exe installer.  When I made my own app for this installer in May 2023 (not via PMP), it was per-user.

  • First time publishing a licensed app. I setup the PatchMyPC Repository location.
  • Downloaded "TELUS Business Connect App" from our portal (purple icon) and put it Repository.  Let it publish as per schedule (would have been Friday night).
  • However, I noticed today the published app icon is green and it says "TELUS Business Connect Phone".
  • both these sites say the app is "TELUS Business Connect App", but in the PMP console, it says "TELUS Business Connect Phone" in both App and Updates tabs.

On our Telus/RingCentral portal, it says the "Phone" app (green icon) is Legacy. When I download it, it is MSI.  The "latest" app is the purple, "TELUS Business Connect App", but it is an EXE. I can not find an option to download an msi.

The version of the exe I downloaded matches what is on the Catalog Release History web page (23.3.23.8182), though the web pages says it is MSI, not exe.

Yes, this is still happening. 23.4.0.46716 has been released since my last post. I tested it, and it's still the wrong version and type (legacy, green icon, msi). 

The current desktop app (purple, exe, per-user) is listed at https://www.telus.com/en/business/small/phone/cloud-phone

Continuation to my previous email.

We have this version of Telus, and with the purple icon. Looks like you've select the Telus Connect Phone on the publisher.

TELUS Business Connect (MSI-x64) is under the Vendor name : Ring Central
TELUS Business Connect Phone (MSI-x86) is under the vendor name : Telus

Please verify as we have the right app with the version and the icon as you've asked for.

Didn't show up but logs say it requires a manual download (don't recall the UI saying that?). I'm away for a couple weeks, I'll have to re-test when I get back.
