Hello,

These credentials are not stored locally. We use MSAL, provided by Microsoft, to authenticate to Entra. The token acquired is then used to communicate with our Patch My PC Cloud solution and perform the 'authentication dance' to acquire a token from our cloud service.

The credentials you provide are not stored in any part of this, outside of their use in memory as part of the MSAL authentication process as provided by Microsoft. There is no need to use a service account for this.

When establishing a connection from on-premises Patch My PC Publisher to PMPC Cloud, credentials must be entered. (See https://docs.patchmypc.com/installation-guides/patch-my-pc-cloud/administration/manage-connections/add-a-connection.) Are those credentials stored on the on-premises server, or does the Publisher somehow generate a secure channel independent of those credentials? We are concerned about having a real user's account information saved on the PC running PMPC Publisher, and we can switch to a service account if needed. Thanks!

Quote from: Badkitty on October 29, 2024, 08:13:11 AMIt's almost 2025, and this is STILL a problem.  Grateful to have found this workaround, but I shouldn't have to change my primary display every time i want to run an update.  Happening in both Windows 10 on one PC, and Windows 11 on another PC.  Both fully patched to current Windows versions. Would be great if ya'll found a fix for this, please and thanks.

We just released Home Updater v5.0 :) And it's made from scratch! please try it out and let us know your feedback!

When starting IntelliJ, after the installation from Software Center, there is a popup that asks for Firewall settings with administrator rights. As our users aren't administrator they can't allow it.

Could you add it in the installation script that the firewall rules are set during the installation?

What i mean is that if the setting: When clicking start updater, automatically minimize Patch my pc, is enabled it is minimized to the system tray when clicking start updater.

So what does the setting: Minimize to system tray instead of the taskbar do? Because The Home Updater isn't minimized to the task bar?

Thank you for the suggestions! We will look into this

We use start with "RustDesk", But we also can exclude any words from the titles for detection! but it's just called RustDesk right now! So yeah, if you can add an extra word in the title name, we can exclude that word from detection and by then it won't be detected by the home updater by default!

But for now, you can select "Disable Scanning" for RustDesk, although I see that it's going to be an issue telling every customer to do so..

I think it has all older versions that are still installed for every app! Like for the older versions of MS VS C++ or Viber or Blender

Hey snukkel,
Thank you for the suggestion! we will rename this soon.

About "Minimize to the system tray instead of the taskbar" it works fine for me! notice that it's for minimize not close! the close option is right below it.
