Patch my pc thinks version 2.7.70978 is the current version.  Kindle says 2.7.1.70978 so I think there is a typo in patch my pc missing the 2.7.1

Working correctly today so it must have been fixed.

I had encountered this error on 14-Mar-2025 and concluded that the PMPC-HU definitions of 14-Mar-2025 must have listed this latest update of Amazon Kindle for PC as version 2.7.70978 when it should have been 2.7.1.70798, the value actually written to the registry for it to work as corrected on 15-Mar-2025.

The installer file for this update was named KindleForPC-installer-2.7.70978.exe. Likewise, this update was identified with the same 3-part version number 2.7.70798 (major.minor.build) when released on both Softpedia.com and MajorGeeks.com on 06-Mar-2025. However, the version number actually written to the registry when the update was installed was 2.7.1.70798 (major.minor.patch.build). Since this resulting 4-part version was semantically less than the 3-part version number in the definitions of 14-Mar-2025, PMPC-HU immediately declared the update as "Outdated" as soon as it was applied (or reapplied or cleanly installed). Also note that Kindle for PC is a new supported app with PMPC-HU Version 5 and therefore experience with this app may have been limited.
