Mimecast for Outlook Question

Question on the Mimecast for Outlook app before I deploy. When I deployed the application myself previously I had to create a Requirement to test for the Office Bitness (32 or 64) to determine which one to install on the machine. But when I look at the Patch My PC apps the x86 one doesn't seem to test for anything and the x64 one just looks to see if the OS is 64 bit or not. But the Mimecast x86 or x64 has to do with the Office bitness not the OS bitness. Can someone clarify if I deploy this will it not install unless the version of Outlook is the same architecture? Thanks.

Andrew Jimenez (Patch My PC)

For deploying as an application, we do not add any additional requirements, so I would recommend adding a requirement to the application after Patch My PC generates it (when new versions are created, PMPC should copy the requirement to the new versions). When deploying as an update, we should detect the already installed version's bitness and install the correct version based on that.

Thanks Andrew. So just to confirm if I put that requirement in it will stay as is after the app gets updated in place?

Andrew Jimenez (Patch My PC)

It should, but it may be an option that needs to be enabled actually. Are you using Publisher or Cloud, and ConfigMgr or Intune?

Publisher with ConfigMgr should move requirements automatically by default.
