.NET Core 7 (part 2)

.NET Core 7 updates are not part of SCCM or in MS catalog.  In the previous topic, a comment was left pointing to the Microsoft Catalog with this link: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=.NET

But that only shows updates for .Net Framework and .NET clients.  Neither of these update .NET Core.

Just posting this additional information for consideration to include .NET 7 Core in the PatchMyPC catalog.

We include the .Net Core hosting bundle for version 7 as a base application.

We previously removed these as updates since they were in the Microsoft Catalog like you had mentioned. I'll chat with our packaging team and see what can be done for the UPDATE side of things.

This leads me to believe that Microsoft is actually patching .NET Core 7 with these updates, as the same installers are included. In fact, Microsoft bundles a lot of installers with their patches. I have looked at the applicability rules that Microsoft uses for these bundles in the past, and they will only install the proper installs based on what is already on the device.

Apologies for not getting back sooner.  It turns out we had a complicated-to-work-out issue with our security scanner with these patches. We are good to go with using the .NET security patches made available within MECM and don't need a PatchMyPC solution.
