I may be bad at searching and using the UI in Patchmypc, but I really liked that you were able to access information about the apps in the older version.

In the new 5 version, you cannot see any information about the apps, you can't even copy paste the name over to search.

Was my favorite feature to discover new and better apps for various tasks

To manage the installation of applications with consistent settings across multiple devices, you must use configuration files and custom settings. With MSI files, you can apply MST (Microsoft Transform) files to customize installation settings using the msiexec /i application.msi TRANSFORMS=custom.mst command, adjusting parameters such as installation paths and user permissions. Many applications also support configuration files (JSON, XML, or YAML) that allow you to set predefined parameters, either by placing the file in a specific directory or referencing it during installation with a command. Contact the right guys, I when I ordered convert wordpress site to react they helped me a lot. Tools like SCCM or Intune make this even easier by allowing these configurations to be included in the deployment package, ensuring consistency of configuration across all devices. This approach is especially useful in large-scale environments where standardized deployments can save time and reduce configuration errors.

One of my computers is still running a 32-bit version of Windows 10. Are there any plans to make a 32bit version of Patch My PC - Home Updater v5 available, or does one already exist and I simply have not been able to locate it?

I recently installed Patch My PC - Home Updater v.5.0.3.0 on my computer, but I can't find where the equivalent of the "Delete Desktop Shortcuts For Apps" option is that used to be available under "Options" in Patch My PC Update 4.5.0.4

I've uploaded the log files.
It seems to be an issue with the recommended prescript
PatchMyPC-Remove-JRE8-32bit-Only.ps1.

We have been using the java application since a couple of years and never had issues, until this version.
We have not changed anything in the options of the app.

I now see that when I select 'portable' applications my subfolders are not visible. To keep a somewhat larger collection of portable apps organized it is really necessary to group them into categories. This seems like a very desirable feature, I'll also post in Feature Requests.

Hi Phoneios:

When I tested Patch My PC v4.5.0 in late 2023 I also found the way it handled portable apps was very confusing and user-unfriendly.  See my 09-Sep-2023 product suggestion at Request for Additional Software and Detection of Portable Apps vs SUMo (which did not receive a response from a Patch My PC employee) and my general comments about detection of portable app updates in Patch My PC in Todd's 26-Oct-2023 Need SUMo Features.

I haven't tested Patch My PC v5.0.0 yet but early feedback suggests that there hasn't been a fundamental change in the way that portable apps are managed in this new version.  I keep my ~ 35 portable apps organized in separate folders on a USB stick at E:\Portable (e.g., E:\Portable\BleachBit, E:\Portable\HWiNFO, etc.) and when I use other software updater apps like UCheck or QuickInstaller (Preview) all I need to do is enter the top-level path to my Portable apps (E:\Portable) in the settings and both are able to check for available updates for many of my portable apps.

Nothing I've tested so far is an ideal replacement for SUMo and I only use software updater apps to check for available updates (i.e, I've never allowed SUMo or any other software updater to actually download and install updates) but there are other options available if the new Patch My PC v5.0.0 still doesn't meet your needs.  I prefer UCheck since it's available as a portable app and detects almost every other portable app I use.  Like the new Patch My PC v5.0.0, QuickInstaller (Preview) must be installed and will ask to install Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime v8.0.x on your system if it isn't already installed.

I sipmply observed that PMPC did not see my portable apps in the designated folder. I assumed that was because I had stored them in a subfolder structure, to quickly find the right tool when I need it.

PMPC will never see the portable apps you downloaded. It is not meant to do that. It won't scan your existing files, no matter what the folder structure is.

As mentioned, you first have to download within PMPC the portable apps that interest you, in the path that you can designate within the PMPC UI (bottom-right). It will then remember those apps, and offer the updated versions when they are released.

Hello,
in the previous portable V4 of PacthMyPC we could select/customise to enable "Dutch" language. So we avoided too, for example, install over a Dutch version of an installed program the English version af that same program.
I Installed the V5.0.3.0 but I canot find how to customize PatchMyPC in the Dutch language.
Pls help me out.

Hello,

I'm encountering an issue during the installation of the newest PatchMyPC (v5.0.3.0) on my ARM64 laptop.
During the installation, it will give me the error that .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.10 arm64 is not properly installed (see attached screenshot).
I have tried repairing .NET Desktop Runtime and also tried installing the x64 version with no luck. Other programs that use .NET seem to be working fine.

Is there anything else I can do to get this working?
