General Questions (Free Home Updater) / Updates installing shortcuts

When I update certain apps with PMP, the silent installs create shortcuts in Shortcuts section on my Win7 taskbar.  I don't want that to happen.  Is there a way to stop it?

I think maybe there could be an option in PMP to prevent the installing of shortcuts on the taskbar, and another option to prevent the installation of shortcuts in the start menu.

On my system, I have VLC set as the default program for most video files.
However, when PMP updated FreeMake, it set FreeMake as the default for certain files and I had to go and undo things.

Is there a way to stop that?
