You do not need admin permission to search the Registry.
If I have changed the options and only want to be shown which updates are need, there is no need for admin permission.
I take care to run my Windows logins as a standard user, not as admin - and PatchMyPC always needing admin permission seems to be at odds with that.
Yea, I know - if I don't like don't use it. But PatchMyPC is a valuable app that has chosen the least secure path when the program is first loaded. Maybe consideration might be given to creating a version of PatchMyPC that does not initially need admin permission?
