Why does you DefaultApps.Settings file have a .txt file extension? This would cause it not to read the DefaultApps.Settings file. After removing the .txt extension, PatchMyPC selected like 15 apps for me in my test.

that was probably a doing by my downloader..but it seemed to fix it though there are still some apps that won't mark but meh they are some that I'm not even using anyways.

Can you email us your settings file using the tech support email form or attached it here.

I zipped them together and tried to attach them here but I just ended up getting an error about your guys upload box being full.. so I uploaded them to mega as I don't feel like dealing with email stuff (especially when it looks like a phone # is required to even send an email to tech support)

anyways can find both setting files zipped here https://mega.nz/#!8AEARCpR!E07bFOSNr_iFs2sY58Py1Xe7LaxjuXaFxdZe0KqXX7c

Are these apps already installed on the machine. Are there any spaces in the directory where PatchMyPC.exe is located?

Some of them are, but not all of them and I've tested several others in the list that I know for sure wasn't installed and they never had been installed and they still didn't get ticked. No spaced in the directory where PatchMyPC.exe is located at all. this is my current path where PatchMyPC and all the files are located at for it C:\Users\JourneyOver\Desktop\PatchMyPC but I've tested other locations as well and it doesn't seem to make a single difference on it working or not.. So far it's 100% not worked (checking anything) with the DefaultApps.settings file. So far only way for me to use PatchMyPC is through opening the program and manually ticking what I want to install.

This isn't just you having this issue, I'm having the same issue with it not auto selecting anything even though I have the "DefaultApps.Settings" in the same folder as PatchMyPC and have several programs in the list set to auto mark.

This is how my current list looks like.

# This setting file can be used to automatically check applications when Patch My PC Updater is started. Just ensure this DefaultApps.Settings is in the same folder as PatchMyPC.exe.
# Currently all the apps are commented out using the # before the application name to enable the auto check remove the # before the application name
