Currently there is no way to silently run PatchMyPc while also specifying apps I don't want updated.  Even when I select the apps I don't want to install and "Export" the settings, the selections are not saved to the resultant settings file.

I'd like for there to be a way, either from the command line, registry, or settings file to specify apps I do not want to upgrade automatically.

As mentioned in another thread, there can be times where an update doesn't complete while in silent mode.  Currently this prevents PatchMyPc from completing any other updates since it processes each update one at a time and will wait indefinitely for each to finish.

What I'd like is to be able to set a timeout period where it will terminate and give up on an update if it doesn't complete within the time specified.

When running PatchMyPc in silent mode, I've ran into a problem where the google chrome updater runs, and then, apparently, never completes.  This causes the PatchMyPc executable to wait forever and not complete the updates for the rest of the programs running.

It's possible this is happening because I have the "enterprise" version of Google Chrome loaded.  AFAIK, the only way to silently install Google Chrome on a computer is to use their enterprise installer: (http://dl.google.com/edgedl/chrome/install/GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi)  with the /quiet /norestart switches.

Is the problem with the patchmypc updater related to this type of installation?  Can we get PatchMyPc to install this version of chrome for updates instead of how it's doing things now?  There would be no prompting for information during the update, as I suspect is what is happening here.

If it helps, another easy way to check the version installed is to look for a subfolder in the install directory.  The subfolder will be the version number.

For example, in:  "%program files%\Google\Chrome\Application" I have a folder titled "48.0.2564.82"

I know that at some point Oracle was uninstalling older versions of Java when newer versions were installed, but it looks like that's gone again.  Since we cannot rely on this feature, what I was hoping for instead was to use PatchMyPc's Uninstall ability instead.

Patch My Pc already detects when there are newer versions of Java and will install them.  However, even though it knows that both the new and old are installed, and even though there is an ability to uninstall the older version from the Uninstaller tab, this must be done manually.  I would like for there to be an option to do this automatically instead.

I looked further into the system and if I go to Add Remove Programs, I see Google Chrome listed with the older version #.  It looks like the version info was never updated in the registry when the program was updated.

Just to make sure, I did a search for all chrome.exe files on the C drive.  There is only one:  "c:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe".  If I right click on the file and click on the Details tab, I see the version showing as 47.0.2526.111

Is there any way to get patchmypc to detect the version based on the installed binary and not from the registry?

Running Patch My PC Updater 3.0.32 with 20-January-2016 definitions on a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit machine.

It is detecting Google Chrome - 47.0.2526.80

However when I open Google Chrome, and go to Help, About, I'm seeing 47.0.2526.111 as the version (The same version that the updater wants to install).  How is the program detecting the older version?  Do I have some stale registry keys or something else that needs to be cleaned up?

Even though I'm using the /silent switch, the Google Chrome web browser is opening after the update is loaded.  Is there any way to prevent this?
