BUMP!

This is still an issue as our reader environment is a mess.  Now I put the fact that users keep reader open when not really using it, but detection is an issue.

looks similar to this post: https://patchmypc.com/forum/index.php?topic=6379.0

A year ago I posted this (https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-3180) due to a reader cleanup process it started pulling the full version from users systems as well.  I put blame squarely on Adobe for being lazy, so I hope there is a solution to keeping adobe reader patched without messing with the full versions.

I would LOVE to be able to pull versions of reader from systems as 90% of users really only need the pdf capabilities of Edge these days anyway.  But due to detection this yanks full versions too.

what is your request number?  Has there been any traction on this?  The way reader installs now does make it difficult to keep the environment patched/clean.

Advanced Insights, yeah, we recently renewed and that was part of why.  We just have not yet had the time to start the process to build it.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

So, I thought that my ssrs reports were broken because when you get to the site and open up report 01 - Software Update Dashboard, and a couple others they just spin.

I reinstalled the reports with the tool and rebooted the report server (it needed one anyway).  Still no love.

The dates on my rdl files are 2021 and I noticed also that report 01 tries to load data from the future.  Today (5/17/24) it is using a start date of 5/31/2024, well unless we know Doc Brown that is not going to load.

Other reports will open, slowly, but they will open.  IT's just that the 01 Dashboard is one that many people will want to use.

Are there updated drl files we can use to re-install the reports?

For SCCM I get the error and same for the update.  Works fine for intune apps though.

error message:

The hash of file downloaded is different than the file hash in our catalog. Hash errors happen when vendors release updates that aren't available in our catalog yet. This error should be resolved in the next catalog update. It could also have been induced by a firewall issue. Additional details:[ayrkL47yIPg9Topfah1f5vxhSvE=] vs [LjHkduI6rOFZwU1WOdstdHowTXc=]
