QuoteI just switched the version number to 1.0 indefinitely! (But it will always download the latest)

Thank you, I appreciate that!

It's even worse as of today.

My Discord is version 1.0.9161 and PMP claims I have 1.0.9158 and now wants to install an old version 1.0.9159.

So not only does it not detect the installed version properly, it doesn't even know what the newest version of Discord is, and if it had its way, would install an old version!

Sadly, it's been two months, with no app update in sight. I am doubtful it will happen.

Once again, Discord is being routinely detected as out of date, even when it is not.

I do not have multiple versions of Discord installed.

Quote from: Omar (Patch My PC) on June 29, 2024, 04:08:41 AMHey there!
Sorry about this! It will be fixed in the next update of Patch My PC.

When will the next app update release? It has been over a month since you posted this.

You can perhaps try to PM the admin I have encountered: https://patchmypc.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1407

I don't have that issue with Firefox and my PMP, but I use the "en-US" version of Firefox and not the "fr" version, so that could be the difference in detection.

Likewise, I also don't have that issue with VLC 3.0.21, as it detects the correct version as being installed and up-to-date.

I don't use the other apps, so I cannot comment there.

The right panel shows what version is currently installed. The left panel shows the version PMP wants to install.

FYI, Firefox Browsers latest version is 127.0.2 and Thunderbird's latest version is 115.12.2, so your installed versions are actually out of date.

Despite selecting "Disable scanning for this app", every single time the program is opened again, the EA App checkbox is checked and wants to perform the update.

This is not how the program should be behaving.

I then have to uncheck the installation box if I need to install anything else.

Discord literally updates itself whenever you start it up, so if you actively use Discord, you should never ever need to use Patch My with it.

I wish Patch My would let me hide apps from being detected. Despite disabling all scanning and updating for it, it still shows up as RED in Patch My.

This is an issue with the NA version as well, not just in Germany.

For the last few weeks, Patch My PC has said Discord needs to be updated, when the currently installed version is well past what it is reporting is installed already.

#12
Yes, I came to report this exact issue.

I have disabled scanning for AnyDesk, and despite doing so, when you restart PatchMyPc it will show up in the list of apps again. Other apps I currently have installed do not have this issue, and are correctly not listed anymore if I disable scanning for them.2022-11-05 - 0534-15.png

Will not update the app to 0.76 from 0.75 despite saying it was downloaded and installed.

balenaEtcher detects as needing to be updated, but will not actually update.
