Title: Nessus Agent versions 10.8.* pulled, Tenable working on a known issue
Post by: hidadsoup on January 02, 2025, 10:04:37 AM
Just posting this as an FYI. Noticed today that we had a few workstations that were failing to install the 10.8.1 update for the Nessus Agent. I was attempting to republish the update and the Publisher got a 404 error when attempting to download the installer. I manually navigated to the downloads page and found it was only offering 10.7.3. Upon further investigation, it would seem there's a known issue their engineers are working on with 10.8.*.

Further, it would seem that our workstations that had been updated to 10.8.1 are automatically downgrading themselves back to 10.7.3. This explains why I initially discovered workstations failing to install the 10.8.1 update.

Thanks for this information, our Catalog team has been alerted to this issue.  They are monitoring the Tenable status page to provide the latest version once its available.

Tenable has released version 10.8.2 to address the issues in previous versions. They included additional steps in their release notes to remediate agents that have gone offline.

That specific version was pulled and we will update it to the new one once available.
