Title: Dropbox 211.4.6008 Installation fails.
Post by: tei2007 on December 09, 2024, 05:40:49 AM
Hello,

We are currently experiencing installation issues with Dropbox 211.4.6008.

After changing the command line for installation to "Dropbox 211.4.6008 Offline Installer.exe" /NOLAUNCH, the installation completes successfully. This suggests a potential problem with the "PatchMyPC-ScriptRunner.exe /InstallPackage" command.

Other commands like "PatchMyPC-ScriptRunner.exe /UninstallPackage" and /UpdatePackage for updates appear to be functioning correctly.

This issue is occurring on an Intune setup with Windows 11 clients. We have tried republishing the app but have not achieved better results.

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Unable to reproduce any problem here in the lab with the latest version 213.4.4597 - Win10/Win11, SCCM/Intune all working, clean installs or upgrades (although the app was not signed in).

The application is relaunching post-install, we'll discuss internally to see if we should add /NOLAUNCH setting to the catalog command line.

Have you retried with the latest version 213.4.4597?

thank you for your response.

I performed a new publishing sync with the PatchMyPC client, but it still only showed version 211.4.6008 in intune.

To investigate further, I took the following steps:

-Opened the catalog file manually and confirmed that version 213.4.4597 was present.
-Restarted the PatchMyPCService and ran a new publishing sync. It immediately updated to the newer version 213.4.4597, along with other newly updated apps. It seems the PatchMyPCService might have encountered a hang or crash.

This was done using version 2.1.29.0 of the PatchMyPC client.

If you want investigate further, I can provide logs for you.

In my case you may consider the case closed  :)

Thank You!
