Title: diskspace is rapidly growing up, with 3rd party patches. how to optimize
Post by: MLMAC on November 19, 2024, 10:17:35 PM
Hello,

we have recently rolled out patchmypc for our customer environment (SCCM server, NO Intune).  We have observed the the SCCM server space is getting filled up quickly, which has been configured to download the 3rd party patches using Patchmypc.

How can we optimize the space?  is there any setting possible in the patchmypc console, through which we can delete old patches? and what is the best practice to be implemented?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/inputs.

regards,
Mac

Hello Mac,

To optimize space, you can use the configurations available under the "WSUS Maintenance" tab. Navigate to Publisher -> Update -> Options -> WSUS Maintenance.

You can select the following options so that the Publisher can perform auto cleanup on declined updates:

For more details, you can refer to this article: https://patchmypc.com/clean-up-third-party-updates-from-the-wsus-updateservicespackages-folder

You may also schedule Software Update Maintenance from the Config Manager console.
