Title: Microsoft ODBC Driver 18.4.1.1 missing from SCCM console
Post by: Rollem99 on September 03, 2024, 07:54:07 PM
Hi all,

Couple of weeks back I installed the latest ODBC driver 18.4.1.1 on our test servers, via patch my pc / SCCM application management. Looking at the console this morning it looks like that version has disappeared now all I can find is version 18.3.3.1.
Would anyone know if this has been rolled back for some reason?

Thanks :)

Hi Rollem99,

You are correct, the latest ODBC driver was reverted to the previous version - 18.3.3.1.
We have reverted Microsoft ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server to  v18.3.3.1 due to multiple reports of failed installs from customers on August 24th.

Here (https://patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-catalog-update-08-20-24) are the release notes with the catalog updates made that day.

Hi Liviu,

Is there a chance that ODBC 18.4.1.1 will be rereleased again?, noticed that MS has not pulled it from there site.
Thanks

Hello,

Our current plan is to keep it held back until the next version releases; we expect a new version within a month. Once that new version is released, we'll watch it closely to see if the same issue reoccurs. We've decided to continue to hold this one back because it is especially disruptive when a customer encounters the issue with it.
