HWiNFO detection seems to be broken, since 8.10 was recently released.
In Windows Settings > Apps, the old 8.06 version was listed as:
HWiNFO64
In Windows Settings > Apps, the new 8.10 version is listed as:
HWiNFO® 64
But now, PatchMyPC doesn't think it's installed anymore.
Can you please fix the detection?
Thanks,
Jacob
This is the vendor's problem, v8.10 didn't replace v8.06! And they also changed the name! That's why Patch My PC is detecting both! We will improve this is the next big update of the home updater, it will no longer detect the older versions installed, just the latest one, and will not have a problem with the name changes.
Eh, I new your app needed a change as well, which is why I posted. Thank you for fixing its detection, soon.
And thank you for reporting this! :)
I wonder if the detection could be setup, to still detect that an old version (using the old name) is installed, and show that it should be replaced with the new version (using the new name)?
That seems to make the most sense, to me, to tell the user that they have an old version that needs to be updated, which is the intent of Patch My PC.
That exactly what will happen with the next version of Patch My PC :)
Excellent!!
I uninstalled HWiNFO64, and the installed via Patch My PC Home Updater 4.5.0.5, and every time I open up Patch My PC Home Updater, it shows red as in it needs updating. Why?
Because each time I update it, it just reinstalls 8.10 again and then re-scanning in Path My PC it shows up red again.
What is going on with the detection of HWiNFO64?

I already explained in this post:

Hey guys,
This is now fixed in the new PMPC v5.0.0 :)
Home Updater: Overview and Download | Patch My PC (https://patchmypc.com/home-updater)
I confirm the fix.
Patch My PC Home Updater 5.0.0.1 sees HWiNFO 8.12, as up-to-date.
Awesome! Thank you :)
