Title: Device Install Status for Intune app updates using PMPC
Post by: mdigrego on May 30, 2024, 07:39:55 AM
We are leveraging PMPC to deploy updates for Zoom via PMPC. We have the conflicting processes configured with the pop up to allow users to defer. Is there a way to determine if a user has deferred the installation of the update? We see some failed updates that state "the user cancelled the installation". Am I correct in assuming that means the user deferred the installation since they had it open already?

Thanks!

hey mdigrego,

This is a great question.
If you navigate to the Intune Portal --> Apps --> Windows Apps --> select the app you are interested in --> under "Overview" you'll find the Device status. It will show you on how many devices the software was successfully installed, on how many it is still in progress and on how many it failed.

If the user defers the installation, Intune will mark it as an installation failure.
Any installation failure marked with exit code 1602 (0x80070642) means the user deferred the installation.
