Title: Consistency of configmgr client versions?
Post by: bisky44 on January 18, 2022, 11:11:05 PM
I'd like to get some broad feedback on this. As we've been preparing the transition from 2103 to 2111, I've been concerned about the.NET 4.6.2 requirement, particularly the fact that the client install will update to.NET 4.6.2 automatically. Furthermore, Microsoft has previously said that.NET 4.8 is the recommended version and that a "future release" will require 4.8. I'm not going to engage into a debate about.NET version management. Rather, I'm curious about how folks handle several client versions in the same context. I've always attempted to keep the client version consistent, and I prefer the endpoint client version to match the entire site version.
