Title: VMWare Workstation Pro 15.5.6 corrupting VMs
Post by: jrauto_it on August 10, 2020, 10:06:22 AM
We utilize VMWare Workstation Pro heavily in our environment. With update 15.5.6 we have noticed that the update installs but corrupts the VMs after it installs. We have investigated into the issue and found that the update is not properly installing/updating VC++ 2015-2019, which is causing the corruption. Running a repair on these fixes the problem. All of our testing so far points to a missing required restart in the update after these VC++ redistributables are touched. Please advise.
