Title: certificate
Post by: mbasso on June 28, 2017, 05:59:41 AM
I am trying to update my Signing certificate and I get the following error: "Unable to perform the requested operation on the update server.  this can happen when you try to perform certain functions remotely that require SSL.  The parameter is incorrect"

any ideas?

Can you email us the scup.log using the contact form? Also are you running SCUP as admin?

WSUS no longer issues self-signed certificates in Server 2012R2 or 2016.

To workaround this you need to implement a registry entry as documented here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/wsus/2013/08/15/wsus-no-longer-issues-self-signed-certificates/

This will allow you to use the existing self-signed method again, at least until Microsoft decides to change the feature from "deprecated" to "removed."
