Title: Portable Apps - Old Download Path Issue
Post by: daygle on May 10, 2022, 05:22:03 PM
I wanted to report an issue with PatchMyPC Updater 4.2.0.5 (Home).

I have the 'Portable Apps' enabled for particular applications with a custom path (directory). In the past I had a directory mapped to a share which is no longer available. Unfortunately when attempting to change the directory I am presented with a .Net Framework error - I am unable to change the old directory.

See the attached screenshot.

Hey there! Sorry about this issue, we will be fixing this in the next update of Patch My PC.
The workaround for now is: open registry, browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Patch My PC\Options"
And in "PortableAppPath" you can change the "Value data" which is the path to the portable apps.
But make sure that Patch My PC is closed first :)
Sorry about this again, and I hope this fixes the issue for now

Thank you so much for getting back to me. Yes, your suggestion corrected the issue.

No need to be sorry, all good. I just wanted to raise the issue in the hope a fix is created to improve the application for myself and others. By the way I really do enjoy using the application, thank you so much for providing us with this great application.

Stay safe and take it easy!

Glen
