Title: Autodesk Products
Post by: rmigtni on November 25, 2016, 12:53:17 AM
Hi all,

frequently there are updates for all autodesk products. (Autocad, Inventor, Recap)

They are all shown/updateble via the Autodesk desktop app, but due to missing local admin rights, the user still can'T update without involving me.
could you please check if its somehow possible to add the Autodesk Product to SCUP catalogue?(most important Autocad and inventor)

Thank you.

Unfortunately we can't add Autodesk products because there no offline/standalone installers for them.

Could additional capabilities be built to allow companies that have access to software behind Autodesk's paywall to provide authentication credentials to download these updates? Most updates are either an msp, msi or exe.

I know at one time Autodesk had all the updates on their website for most of the updates: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/download

You might also be able to use the following blog to get the links to the articles that have the download links and then build upon that for the direct download links:

Or another thought, would there be a way for the organization using PatchMyPC to download the updates and create a manifest file that could be imported into the catalog and download from our own internal file share?

Justin,

Anything more regarding the ability to have the Autodesk products in Patch My PC.  I don't see anything on https://knowledge.autodesk.com/download that is preventing users without an account from downloading the patches, its mostly the full versions that are protected.

I have also reached out to our Autodesk Account Manager to see if there feed that could be referenced for all the patches, etc.

Paul

We will have to re-evaluate this product. We have had a lot of requests lately so it may take some time.
