Perfect! Unfortunately, at the moment, those changes require a change in content, and we'll only sync updated content on a republish for Intune Apps and Updates. Glad it is working now!
#2
That worked, thanks Andrew!

I had assumed a full sync would upload a new intunewin with the changes, so I did not check republish before the sync initially. Once I did, the changes went through.

Do both, choose republish on next sync, then choose selective sync, then run a sync and it should just republish that 1 app, and not process anything else.

Hi Andrew!

I think that may be what I was missing. Would a selective sync be sufficient? Or would I need to check 're-publish on next scheduled sync' before I run the sync?

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Since you've changed the settings in Manage Conflicting Processes, have you republished the App/Update? The Jabber App will need to be republished to get the latest changes in Manage Conflicting Processes.

Hello,

I have the Cisco Jabber app configured with the following settings. I've also configured the default settings to configure a custom banner.

I've added an app supercedence setting for a different app in Intune to replace Cisco Jabber and configured it to uninstall Jabber at the time of installation for the new app. When this happens, however, I get the default conflicting app popup if Jabber is open at the time. Despite having configured 'Do not allow deferals', the user is still offered the option to snooze the uninstall, and the customized banner is not present. Is there a separate place that I need to configure conflicting process settings for a required uninstall?

Thanks!

Hi! In the steps I detailed above 1-3 would be completed in the Cloud portal and the remaining steps would be done on the Publisher side. The cloud portal does not have the option to add files/folders at this time, so that would have to be done in the Publisher once the Custom App has been created in the Cloud Portal.

It might be that your Publisher hasn't been connected to the Cloud Portal? If not, you won't see the custom apps you have created show up on the Publisher side. We have an article with the steps on how to connect: https://docs.patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-cloud/custom-apps/integrate-publisher

If you do have access to the Publisher, and a PSADT that already works, I do think it might be worth looking into using our custom apps feature. Feel free to reach out directly to us and create a support ticket, and we can go over in more detail or get a call setup to review. https://patchmypc.com/technical-support

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I would still suspect a firewall block in this situation.

The publisher uses the .net built-in browser to download content (which is equivalent to IE) and the downloads occur as SYSTEM. So in order to accurately test the download, you would need to do so as SYSTEM, using either IE, or PowerShell. We've seen many times that firewalls will block downloads from the SYSTEM account specifically.

Thank you for the reply. I think we are cloud only for custom apps but I know we do have the publisher. How can I tell if I can make this work? I do see the option to add additional files but I don't see the option to add additional folders.

Hi PatchMyPC Team

We get a download error when it PmP tries to create the ConfigMgr App for Windows Desktop Runtime 6.0.33 x86.
The x64 version worked.

The error we get:
An error occurred WebClient reported an error during download (https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/8029cdb3-0f5f-4018-bff7-bacd9b9357f8/daf6c8b102a3bdfbbf235cfa0e46f901/windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.33-win-x86.exe): Unable to read data from the transport connection: The connection was closed. [System.IO.IOException] HResult: -2146233079

We can download the .exe manually, so the internet connection should not be the issue.

Can you confirm that the issue is not on PmP side?
