Google Chrome installation

Every time I try to update Chrome I get the following error(see screenshot). I am running as an administrator.

In the options panel disable silent updates. This will allow you to perform the install this will let you know why it isn't installing.

I may have found the problem. The current installed version is 18.0.912.75 but PatchMyPC reports 14.3.17315. Could be it will not install the same version.

Do you have duplicate entry's in add/remove programs? If not then google chrome didn't delete version 14 information in the registry when it was upgraded.

I think you are correct it was a Chrome problem. I used Windows Install Cleanup program and removed the old version.
