I have the same issue, after getting a very nice MS Surface laptop during Black Friday.  I found other postings about the failure last year and not one has been replied to by PMPC support.  Really???  At the very least, an acknowledgement that the user has been heard would be the required minimum from any responsible company.  Really takes the shine off PatchMyPC's reputation.  Wouldn't they see some issues with enterprise customers?  They can't all be running Intel CPUs.

Are you running a Snapdragon CPU?  It's been reported several times to PMPC support that their app won't install properly.  Several months now, but for some reason PMPC support has not even responded to the posts.  I mean, why not respond with "we're looking into it" or other tepid answer?  Just ghosting the requests for help is so 180 degrees from their enterprise support.  Really disappointing and I'm leaning toward a low satisfaction rating.

Maybe Microsoft's move to Snapdragon on Surface laptops will help.  Awesome speed and power efficiency that blows past any Intel-based laptops I've seen.

It is not fixed.  Same issue with MS Surface 7 with ARM64.  Installed runtime separately and PMPC won't install.  It shouldn't try to install the runtime again if it exists, so definitely a bug.  Log for runtime shows success (0), as the program already exists.

Sorry, wrong forum post.  This should go with install errors, not exiting.  Will repost.

Scheduled task updating only works if "When opening PMPC, automatically start updating outdated apps" is enabled.  I think a different toggle here would be helpful, mostly because I don't want apps to start updating just because I opened the GUI.  I may be checking on an issue and don't want to make it worse.  Maybe a troubleshooting commandline switch that opens PMPC with default settings (nothing automatic)?

Running v5. Task scheduler is running every day but outdated apps not updating.  I thought it might require enabling the auto-update when opening PMPC feature, but that only got the apps updated when I actually ran the GUI.

Would love to have a way for PCs to update without admin users.

Adobe updated Acrobat on 7/15/24, but there is still no update via PMPC?  Only 24.002.20895 is detected...

Patch My PC email notices indicate which updates are targeting security vulnerabilities with a red dot.  It would be quite helpful if you would report on all of those on your website or give us the ability to report on available updates that target vulnerabilities via the Publisher.

Thanks!

Additional question:  How should one "manually update" the settings export?

The limited detection logic for Adobe Acrobat DC is also interfering with updates for Acrobat DC x64 and Acrobat Reader DC x64.  Both updates are considered required for a PC with Reader x64 which causes a conflict in ConfigMgr and therefore NO updates are advertised for Reader.  I understand that Adobe has made detection difficult by branding both Acrobat and Reader as "Acrobat", but PMPC is the creator of the detection scripts and should be able to differentiate the two.

Thanks for the link.  I found the "Known Issues" list at the bottom.  Mostly the "big stuff".  I think PMPC knew about the Power BI Desktop hash problem well before I posted, so a place where those "smaller" issues were noted would still save a lot of time.

All good now, thanks.  Is there a noticeboard at PMPC where known issues are published or do we have to wait until someone either posts it here or we do that ourselves?  I'd rather see a post of known problems like this one so I don't have to hunt for it in the forums or post my question and wait.

Thanks again.

I can report the latest version that was received here this morning shows version 112.0.1722.58.  The two .48 version updates have been superseded.
