The Publisher does not store the files when publishing to Intune, it creates the IntuneWin in a temp folder, uploads it to Intune, then deletes the temporary files.

You can enable an option which will allow you to extract the IntuneWin files from Intune, https://patchmypc.com/ui-intune-global-options#topic1. However downloading them will be a manual process.

If you'd like these files to be stored by the Publisher, I would recommend voting on, and leaving a comment for the following idea on our ideas portal: https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-1783

As part of our manual packaging process, we store the "source" files and the resultant "intunewin" file when we package an application. Primarily, this is an audit item to verify what is being rolled out.

Where does the publisher store these files for Intune applications, and can I configure this to store them separately like I can do with ConfigMgr applications?

General Questions (Free Home Updater) / Re: Accessibility Issue with P...

This morning, I installed Patch My PC - Home Updater v.5.0.5.0 and noticed that I cannot successfully use NVDA to find the list of programs available for installation, nor the category for updating installed programs. When using the mouse, NVDA successfully identifies the programs, but when using the keyboard for full navigation, almost nothing happens. Additionally, when I navigate to the "My Apps" category, NVDA announces "list," but when I try to move with the arrow keys, NVDA falls silent as if there is nothing there. I also noticed that there are a few elements that NVDA does not recognize and instead reads only as "button."
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,

Hey there :)
Sorry to hear about this! Yeah NVDA had some changes in their installer which made us not be able to update it in Patch My PC Home Updater v4.
However, we released Home Updater v5 recently and this issue is fixed in it and NVDA now is up to date at v2024.4.1 :) Home Updater v4 support will end soon anyway.
Please try Home Updater v5 and let us know if you had any issues :) https://patchmypc.com/product/home-updater

General Questions (Free Home Updater) / Accessibility Issue with Patch...
Last post by Dzonix - December 10, 2024, 12:35:11 AM

Dear [Support Team],

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an accessibility issue that has arisen with the recent update of Patch My PC Updater. As a user who relies on the NVDA screen reader for navigating applications on Windows, I have encountered significant difficulties with the latest version of your software.

The previous version, Patch My PC Updater 4.5.0.4, was fully compatible with the NVDA screen reader, allowing seamless interaction and usability. However, the recent update has disrupted this compatibility, making it challenging for visually impaired users like myself to use the application effectively.

Here are some specific issues I have encountered with the latest update:
- Inconsistent screen reader feedback when navigating the application interface.
- Inability to access certain features and options using keyboard shortcuts.
- Lack of proper labeling for buttons and controls, making it difficult to understand and use the application.

Given the importance of accessibility for all users, I kindly request that you consider addressing these issues in a future update. Ensuring that Patch My PC Updater remains accessible to users who rely on screen readers like NVDA is crucial for maintaining its usability and inclusivity.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate your efforts in making Patch My PC Updater a more accessible application for all users. Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide to assist in resolving this issue.

Best regards, I am using Windows 11 Pro and the latest version of the NVDA screen reader.

Hi BH_btan,

You can create a collection based on installed apps and exclude it from the Required assignment. However, the query will not identify if the app was installed by Patch My PC; it will only search for the ARP (Add or Remove Programs) entry on the device. I've shared a blog post below to help you test if it matches your requirements:

I recommend testing it on a pilot collection before deploying it to production devices.

We just shipped this latest version! Thanks for sharing as we work out how to get the latest consistently from Bentley.

Hi Liviu,

Yeah I have made them Available for now.
I had them as Required as I am trying to baseline our environment from having different versions, 64/32bit and exe/msi installers. But once baselined I wanted them to be maaged by Software Updates, which we would run quarterly with ADRs.

I don't do Option 2 because I reference the App Packages in the Task Sequence for deploying SOE, they get the latest version without having to repoint App Packages.

Is there a way to have a collection for a specific Application (say Acrobat Reader) that detects the precence of said app that also knows it was deployed with PMP?

Great thankyou.
