Messages - Omar (Patch My PC)

Hey Frank,
Did you leave the home updater for a long time then came back to it finding that a lot of apps were removed? If yes then it's maybe because we have removed several Microsoft apps a couple of years ago. It was all mentioned in the release notes:

Neither Google nor Microsoft stated that any of these CVEs are Critical! Google marked the highest ones as Important/High only! So did we. I wonder why they didn't mark the 0-day ones as Critical though! Chrome Releases: Stable Channel Update for Desktop (googleblog.com)

The vendor of HWiNFO64 changed the app's name in the last update and it didn't even replace the older one, and left both installed! This is their problem! But this kind of detection issues will be fixed for good in the next major update of the home updater :) Disabling EA App will be fixed too.
CrystalDIskInfo works fine now I think with v9.4.2 ?

Quote from: BIG on August 28, 2024, 06:33:19 AMWhen I update succesfully CrystalDiskInfo to v9.4.0. PatchMyPC indicates that it must be updated again (to the same version that is already installed). Please fix it. Thanks.
It should be working now.

Awesome! :)
Maybe you reached the limit of the restore points size?
#7
That's an issue from the vendor unfortunately, in the next major update of Patch My PC this won't be a problem anymore :) It will only detect the latest version you have.

This is already a new feature in the new major Patch My PC which will release very soon! Hopefully in September!

That exactly what will happen with the next version of Patch My PC :)

Hey there :) Sorry to hear about this!
Looks like it's a problem with the restore point, can you disable it from Patch My PC settings and try again?
#11
And thank you for reporting this! :)

This is the vendor's problem, v8.10 didn't replace v8.06! And they also changed the name! That's why Patch My PC is detecting both! We will improve this is the next big update of the home updater, it will no longer detect the older versions installed, just the latest one, and will not have a problem with the name changes.

This means you still have all these older versions installed, even if you just have one Viber, the older versions are still registered and needs to be removed!

Aha! I think when they auto update themselves, they don't update the version in the registry (in some cases), but when you use the installer, it updates it fine!
Anyway, glad that it worked and everything is ok now :) And you are welcome!

This is Mozilla's problem, looks like their installers doesn't update the version in the registry sometimes!
I noticed that you are using the French version of Firefox and Thunderbird, I recommend you to download and install the installers manually (only this time), it might fix the version numbers!

These are the latest French 64-Bit versions of Firefox and Thunderbird:
