When downloading a patch for Firefox, I noticed PMPC hanging not doing anything. As I dutifully monitored the status screen with nothing going on, I happen to notice something marked in yellow on the task bar. I clicked on it and it was the patch asking for permission to install. Windows had suppressed it from taking focus.
I recommend that the status screen be updated BEFORE launching the patch. Possibly even print a reminder to click on any prompts produced by the installation.
