Hi
two things about the options:
1. The option "Download only mode" still missing
2. The old option menu was compact and clear. In the new menu you have to scroll a lot to get to all the options
Just my thoughts :-)

I second this issue
The "Download only" option is still missing
This was a clever feature of the old PatchMyPc::
Just download into a directory and the decide when and who you want to install an app
So please bring back this feature

I had set it so it downloaded all the portable apps in a specific folder, then I could move them freely wherever I wanted. Patch my pc still tracked them and notified me of any update unless I clicked on the uninstall/remove button next to their icon on the main page. Now as soon as I move them out of their default folder, the program automatically stops monitoring them. Besides some apps like fancontrol portable, just to name one, are downloaded in a compressed folder and need to be decompressed in order to be used.

The program only registers the compressed folder, so as soon as it gets removed, the app is no longer monitored. I am not sure if this is inteded, but this would be a big downstep in that case.

General Questions (Free Home Updater) / Apps languages
Last post by egaudill - March 15, 2025, 09:06:03 PM
Hello,
The previous version of patchmypc gave the possibility to choose the language for downloaded updates.
I can't find this parameter in new homeupdater.
Did I miss something?
Is is in your plans?
thank you

Did you change the location in the config?

"System" doesn't work on my system...it changes the theme to "Dark"...even though that's not set for the system.

Windows 10 22H2.

Portable apps no longer get monitored if moved from their download folder. This did not happen with previous versions.

Hello, I have just tested the mentioned version. It is true that accessibility has now been improved in the program; programs that require updates are visible, as well as the list of programs available for installation.
I suggest, if possible, to add a checkbox next to each program that NVDA or JAWS could track. For instance, when I am positioned on a program I wish to mark for installation, once I select it and navigate to another program, there is no indication of which programs have already been selected for installation. This could work similarly to the portable version, where a checkbox indicates what is selected for installation—the checked items are installed, while the unchecked items are not.
I also noticed that the application is slightly slower compared to the portable version.
One additional suggestion: if applications could be displayed in a list view, it would allow navigation through the list using only the arrow keys. The Tab or Shift + Tab keys could then be reserved for navigating through functions, such as tabs or sections where options like Silent Install or Install can be adjusted.

Working correctly today so it must have been fixed.   :)
