Hi,

I have published the Java 7(x86) to Java 8 (x86) update via SCUP to SCCM but we are finding that workstations running Java 7u80 never receive the update. So I modified the Installable Rules on the update in SCUP to detect installations of 7u80 (Product {26a24ae4-039d-4ca4-87b4-2f03217080ff} is installed) and the workstation detects the update, but when it runs it fails to uninstall Java 7 (Java 8 installs successfully).

I have checked the PatchMyPC_jre1.8.0_60_x86.msi log file and I can see that the uninstall checks do not try to detect {26a24ae4-039d-4ca4-87b4-2f03217080ff}. Can you please update the Java 7 to 8 update package to also check for this version of Java?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

Thanks for reporting this. We will look into getting this update out to including Java 7 Update 80 in the migration. This may take a little time to get this update re-released.

Hi Support,

Just wondering if you have been able to make any progress on this issue?

Thanks,
Jason

Justin Chalfant (Patch My PC)

We are testing this update today. It should be in today's release as long as there are no issues. This will be released as a new migration update and the current one will be marked expired.

Testing is looking good. We should have this out in today's update.

We will be expiring the current 4 Java migration updates and there will be two more updates added for the migration.

The migration updates will handle both Java 6 and Java 7 migrations to Java 8 in a single update.

Java 7 Update 80 will be included in the detection / uninstall logic.

Great! Thanks for the prompt reply.
