PMPC Home Updater isn't going to magically detect every portable app ever made and auto downloads the latest versions of them! What you are suggesting means that we need to add every single portable app on the internet to the database of the home updater.. and have a team that is ready to update these "thousands" of portable apps at any time.. which is of course, impossible.
Only the ones in PMPC Home Updater are supported for now, and you even must download them at least once from the home updater in order to get their updates in the future.

Hey there,
Thank you for your feedback!
Can you please tell me what resolution are you using? and are you using a higher DPI than 100% or not?
Thank you!

Some apps in the home updater we don't offer updates for because they either don't have a version we can detect in the registry (Add/Remove Programs) or they never change the version numbers in there! But we keep them in the Home Updater because they are very common, and it's good to install them for the first time on a fresh Windows install, and their devs might actually fix this issue someday! Some of these examples are:

Corsair iCUE5
Steam
EA Play
Discord
Battle.Net
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard
EaseUS Partition Master
yWriter7

However, Corsair iCUE5 is using a static download URL, so if you reinstalled it from our Home Updater, it should update to the latest :)  But it's a big one, so it will take a couple of minutes.

This means you have both 128.3.0 and 128.3.4 installed! and you need to manually uninstall the older one. The latest is 128.4.0 now though!
Also, this kind of confusion is now gone for good in our all new Home Updater v5.0 :) please check it out and let us know your feedback!

Quote from: Badkitty on October 29, 2024, 08:13:11 AMIt's almost 2025, and this is STILL a problem.  Grateful to have found this workaround, but I shouldn't have to change my primary display every time i want to run an update.  Happening in both Windows 10 on one PC, and Windows 11 on another PC.  Both fully patched to current Windows versions. Would be great if ya'll found a fix for this, please and thanks.

We just released Home Updater v5.0 :) And it's made from scratch! please try it out and let us know your feedback!

Thank you for the suggestions! We will look into this

We use start with "RustDesk", But we also can exclude any words from the titles for detection! but it's just called RustDesk right now! So yeah, if you can add an extra word in the title name, we can exclude that word from detection and by then it won't be detected by the home updater by default!

But for now, you can select "Disable Scanning" for RustDesk, although I see that it's going to be an issue telling every customer to do so..

I think it has all older versions that are still installed for every app! Like for the older versions of MS VS C++ or Viber or Blender

Hey snukkel,
Thank you for the suggestion! we will rename this soon.

About "Minimize to the system tray instead of the taskbar" it works fine for me! notice that it's for minimize not close! the close option is right below it.

"Installed Apps" are the apps that are supported in the home updater, while "All Apps" are everything installed on the machine. But yeah we should improve the naming 😁

Hey Casper, Thank you for reporting this!
I'm wondering, is this custom RustDesk of yours has a different name than the original one in "Add/Remove Programs"? and if so, can we know what is the name exactly so we can exclude it from our detection? Thank you!

In "Add/Remove Programs", if Zoom is called:
Zoom Workplace (64-bit) or Zoom Workplace (32-bit), then it's the MSI
And if it's called:
Zoom Workplace, then it's the EXE
