Hello,
Google released a new update the other day, version 131.0.6778.109; unfortunately, with this release, the installer for the Google Chrome MSI no longer functions properly. A bug has been created for Google here: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/382108340. Due to this issue, Patch My PC is holding the update and not releasing the latest Chrome update. Unfortunately, because Google uses a static download link, holding the update will cause a hash mismatch. This error is expected at this time and will remain until Google updates their installer and Patch My PC updates our catalog with a fixed version of Chrome.

My Defender is reporting that Chrome has vulnerabilities and the latest version (131.0.6778.108)was released 2 days ago.  I just tried to run a publishing service sync in PMP and it isn't pulling the latest version.

Hi

Im seeing similar issue on machines yet if i login to one and goto Software Center and click retry it installs fine.

Do I need to enable 'Run installation and uninstall program as 32-bit process on 64-bit clients' or is this a another issue?

Deployment failed,Action failed,0x664 (1636)
This update package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer update package.

We had just deployed the previous version on Friday and that version had installed fine without this error

Hello Rollem99,

The current version available for download from the official site is 24.01.00.23.

Unfortunately, we don't have an ETA for the release date of version 24.01.01.12, as there is no information from the vendor. If you have any URLs or release notes for version 24.01.01.12, could you please share them with us?

Thanks,
Nithin

You can run the publisher more than once with different settings by using distinct configurations. This can be achieved with Patch My PC (PMPC) by leveraging different configuration files or using command-line parameters.

Hey msysadmin,

I got a suggestion from our App Team that worked in my Lab.

With the 'Deployment Type' settings of the App, on the 'Programs' tab, enable the option:

'Run installation and uninstall program as 32-bit process on 64-bit clients'

I got the same error during OSD installing on a Win11 24H2. Testing with a 23H2 machine incase that makes a difference.

I do a fresh install of the app on a machine. Testing an upgrade right now.
