What I posted is pretty much it...

No option to globally turn off automatic updating like version 4.

Disabling the global Silent Install option in settings doesn't.

You'll get to see the app installer (because it's not a silent install), but exiting out of the installer itself will delete the installer executable.

Used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove it.

Doesn't look like I can edit the first post...

Ran the Compatibility Troubleshooter on the executable, and tested with "Scaling on high DPI".

Did not fix the issue.

Windows 10 22H2.

Version 5 does not seem to be DPI-aware.

It is compressing columns in the apps list, and when manually sized, does not offer a horizontal scroll bar to see the columns out of view.

The top selection "App Library" is partially overlayed by "My Apps".

I saw there was a setting for each individual app, but I would like the ability to globally turn off auto install for all apps, like in version 4.

I tried going to Settings and disabling "Silently install and update applications".

When the manual installer automatically started, I exited.

However the result was that the installer was deleted.

Installed version is 24.8.1.2

PMP says update is version 24.8.2.1, but downloads 24.8.1.2 installer.

Per the subject line.

Thanks

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
File format is not valid."

It sounds like it's trying to install a file with an invalid format.

What happens if you let PMPC just download the file only?

Can you manually install it after it downloads?

Snappy Driver Installer Origin is currently not supported in the Home Updater.

The left column shows the latest version.

The right column shows the version (PMPC thinks) you have.

I have had this issue when updating through the browser using the Firefox and Thundebird About screens, and reported it to Mozilla.

The About screen display is correct, but the version number in the registry is not.

Running winget also shows the version mismatch.

Mozilla couldn't reproduce it.

I now update with PMPC, and the versions are correct in both.

This sounds like a bot...or someone who didn't read the original post.

This issue looks similar to the one I have with Wise Registry Cleaner.

In that case, PMPC is parsing the version number from the DisplayName registry key, rather that getting it directly from the DisplayVersion key.

That worked...until the version number was no longer included in the DisplayName key.

Diff of the registry keys that shows my issue -

I suspect the same thing is happening here with XnView MP.
