Vivaldi is marked in red at startup but doesn't update when PatchMyPc is run.
When the checkbox at Vivaldi is checked it does download and say it's been installed
but when PatchMyPc is run again nothing has apparently changed.
Please see attached screenshot.

Thank you.

What does the PMPC log file tell you about the installation?
You may have to enable it in the options.

Thanks for the answer.

Please see the screenshot also.
Had checked the box at Vivaldi before running.
Don't understand what other options I should use.
Thank you for any help.

I should add that after the above - then PatchMyPc is run again and then again it displays Vivaldi as not updated - though it said (above) it was updated - strange!?

StPendl

Do you see more Vivaldi versions listed in the Uninstaller panel?
If so uninstall the older releases.

PatchFan1248

Thanks for the reply.
Well, I managed to reinstall Vivaldi's latest version, and now PMPC says it's ok.
So - problem solved.
Thanks. ;-)

Not really. I'm on the regular channel for Vivaldi, and currently it is a higher version than the patch patchmypc is using so patch my pc shows it in red, but won't update. Essentially, patch my pc's patches are behind for Vivaldi and Java 64 bit. I'm guess in a day or two they will update to catch up  with what has been updated by the company.

I continued to read in this forum and found another person with a similar issue. They were told that in fact, the issue was that an update didn't uninstall the  previous one, so there were two versions installed. I checked and that was the case for both java and Vivaldi.

PatchFan1248

Yes, previously there was the same problem with Java.
With Vivaldi, when the problem is there, I go to Vivaldo.com, download the latest version and install it. Then it is ok (also in PatchMyPc).
There is some security warning I have to override, perhaps that is part of the problem with the automatic update in PatchMyPc.

ss

No. You didn't understand. I had updated from within Vivaldi, and for whatever reason it hadn't uninstalled the older version, so I had vivaldi installed twice. PatchMyPC understood this and would not upgrade but showed the older version. The same issue was with Java. I had two version installed, the current one and a previous one.

PatchFan1248

Yes, I have also experienced that in some cases. ;-)
