Hi,

Please consider adding AnyBurn, a comprehensive free disc burning application, which is still updated regularly:

http://www.anyburn.com/download.php

There is a 64-bit/32-bit installer and also a combined portable version.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just to let you know that PMPC Home Updater doesn't appear to be offering the latest version 4.4.1 of TreeSize Free:

https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/changes.shtml

(I currently have the old version 4.4.0.508 installed.)

Thanks.

Hi,

A couple of useful apps (both from NoVirusThanks) that you might like to consider adding to PMPC Updater:

Hi,

PMPC Updater did not recognise my CCleaner installation as being out of date, so I downloaded and installed the latest version manually - v5.42.6499 (16 May 2018).

Thanks.

Hi,

Please consider adding ESET Online Scanner, which is effectively a portable app that can be used as a free on-demand virus/malware scanner.

Thanks.

Hi,

".NET Framework  -  4.7.02558" shows in red, even though scanning has been disabled for "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2".  I am using Windows 7.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just wondered if paid-only VPN apps (such as Private Internet Access) are eligible or not for inclusion in PMPC Updater?  The criteria here states that apps must be freeware:

https://patchmypc.net/vote-for-new-apps

However, although these VPN clients are often free to download, they are not usable without purchasing a paid subscription.

The above would not apply to VPN services that offer a free and usable ongoing VPN plan - such as ProtonVPN and Windscribe.

Thanks.

Report Bugs and Issues (Free Home Updater) / Downloads Show as "0 MB"
« on: April 22, 2018, 11:14:43 AM »
Hi,

When using PatchMyPC Updater 4.0.1.5 recently on a Windows 7 64-bit PC, I notice that the size of the download is reported as "0 MB".  However, the file downloads and installs perfectly regardless.

Two apps that I've seen this with are:
  • PDF-XChange Editor
  • RogueKiller
Could this be a bug?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have the latest version of Brave Browser (0.22.13) installed on a Windows 7 PC.  If I check for updates in Brave itself it says my installation is up-to-date and there are no updates but PMPC Updater reports the installation as being out-of-date.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have the latest version - SUPERAntiSpyware 6.0.1258 installed.  However, PMPC incorrectly says I have version 6.0.1254 installed and is out-of-date.  I am using Windows 7 and the last update for SUPERAntiSpyware was done through SUPERAntiSpyware itself.

Thanks.

Hi,

I noticed a small bug yesterday in PMPC where the colour of the "Portable Apps" title is not updated.

Steps to reproduce:

1) I had two portable apps in total, both out-of-date.
2) I unchecked and reset both portable apps.
3) "Portable Apps" title stays red - even though no portable apps now require updating.

Also, the "Portable Apps" title stays red after rescanning the apps.  The only way to make it go black is to restart PMPC.

Thanks.
