Title: Discord - 1.0.9002 vs 0.0.309
Post by: Jacob Klein on June 08, 2021, 10:12:42 AM
Discord says that it is fully up-to-date on my PC.
And it says it is "Host 1.0.9002" and "Stable 86917"

Yet Patch My PC indicates that an update is available, saying "Discord - 0.0.309"

This seems to be a detection issue or version comparison issue.
Can someone please investigate and fix it?

Thanks.

This means that you have Discord v0.0.309 still installed with the latest v1.0.9002
Try to remove 0.0.309 or restart your machine and it may fix itself.

Weird.

- Discord told me it was 1.0.9002, from inside the app.
- Windows 10 Settings > Apps ... showed 0.0.309.
- I uninstalled from there, which uninstalled all of Discord, including my 1.0.9002 version
- I reinstalled Discord
- Now the Patch My PC detection logic works.

I hope I don't have to uninstall/reinstall Discord every time they have an update.
But I agree that this issue might have been caused by them not updating properly.

Thanks.

To be honest we tested upgrading from 0.0.309 to 1.0.9002 and it worked fine without leaving 0.0.309 behind!
So hopefully your case won't happen again anyway.
