Hi,

I have Skype 8.17 installed on Windows 7 64-bit but PMPC does not list it as being installed.

Thanks.

Hi,

Glary Utilities says "Version 5.93.0.115 available.  Update now!".  However, PMPC says my "Glary Utilities 5.92  -  5.92.0.114" is current.

Thanks.

Indeed, app recommendations are very subjective depending on the user.  For example, ask "Which anti-virus should I use?" and there might be many opinions.

However, I like it how PMPC lists apps into categories.  This makes it easier to look for potential software alternatives, which can then be researched online if needed.

Hi,

Should Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit still be included?  It is no longer free (except for beta) and only included in the premium version of Malwarebytes:

https://www.malwarebytes.com/antiexploit/

Also, AppCheck appears to be a good alternative, which now includes free anti-exploit protection:

Thanks.

It seems as though I originally had just the 32-bit version of IrfanView installed.  Rather than updating the 32-bit version, PMPC downloaded the 64-bit version - so I ended up with a newly installed 64-bit version that was up-to-date but the 32-bit version was outdated still.  I think this might have been as a result of the bug that was recently fixed.

To resolve the issue, I updated PMPC to the latest version and uninstalled the 64-bit IrfanView.  Hopefully, just the 32-bit version will be updated going forward.   :)

Could the IrfanView problem be related to this issue that was recently fixed in 4.0.0.6 (2-Mar-2018)?

According to the incompatible applications list at the bottom of this page both apps are incompatible:

https://patchmypc.net/vote-for-new-apps

FreeFileSync - "No Silent Switch for free edition"
BurnAware Free - "No Version to detect"

I use FreeFileSync extensively for backups so it would be nice if it could be included.

Hi,

You might like to consider adding Acronis Ransomware Protection:

Thanks.

Hi,

I originally installed the 32-bit version of IrfanView a few months ago.  However, now I appear to have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed (instead of just one) after updating.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi,

When I view ProtonVPN in PMPC Uninstaller, it is listed twice (both as version 1.3.3) - I also get a warning about this at the top of the PMPC installed apps pane.  Could this be a bug?

As far as I can tell I only have one installation of ProtonVPN on my PC.  If I go to Windows Add/Remove Programs, Revo Uninstaller or Geek Uninstaller, ProtonVPN is listed just once.

When I've updated ProtonVPN in the past I have always updated within the app itself.  I am running the latest version of PMPC Updater on Windows 7.

Thanks.

Great - thanks for your explanation.

Hi,

Just wondered, what does setting an app to Auto-Install actually do?  I had a look at the FAQ here, but I think there is a typo as the question "Adding Apps As Auto-Install?" describes the auto updating feature.

Thanks.

Hi,

AppCheck is an anti-ransomware app.  Not sure if silent install is supported in the free version.

Thanks.

Hi,

Some apps (such as Kodi) don't provide the version number in the installation.  In this case, would it be possible to obtain the currently installed version number from the app's main executable (or similar), so such apps would still be compatible?

Thanks.

Hi,

With Windscribe each release consists of a version number and build number e.g. v. 1.1 build 123.  Often when an update is released the build number is changed but the version number stays the same.  In this case it appears that the install is flagged as up to date instead of outdated.  Could this be improved?

Thanks.
