Sorry to hear about this! Yeah NVDA had some changes in their installer which made us not be able to update it in Patch My PC Home Updater v4.
However, we released Home Updater v5 recently and this issue is fixed in it and NVDA now is up to date at v2024.4.1 Home Updater v4 support will end soon anyway.

1. I have changed my downloads location to e:\downloads but after updating my apps I do not see the downloaded updates in e:\downloads.  Where are they held? Are they deleted, and if so can I stop this?

2. I updated Mozilla Thunderbird & Firefox via the app, but after opening the programs they had not been updated. The downloads appeared to complete and install.

It would be nice if the scope was wider, how I miss SUMO, but it's a good program

Are you sure you are not disabling them? they work fine in our testing, and no one said anything about them!

So the key you deleted that fixed this is related to "HP Scanning"?

Can you please check what app has the version of 140.0.80.000 in "Add/Remove Programs" and let me know?

PMPC Home Updater isn't going to magically detect every portable app ever made and auto downloads the latest versions of them! What you are suggesting means that we need to add every single portable app on the internet to the database of the home updater.. and have a team that is ready to update these "thousands" of portable apps at any time.. which is of course, impossible.
Only the ones in PMPC Home Updater are supported for now, and you even must download them at least once from the home updater in order to get their updates in the future.
