I'm in the process of implementing Patch My PC, and so far it's going great.
How do you handle updates for programmes such as Cisco Jabber or Zoom, where you don't want the user to be interrupted?
I don't want to have to employ maintenance windows to block software upgrades during business hours, but I was just testing Jabber this afternoon and it was closed to instal an update. It would be particularly inconvenient if a user was on the phone.
I also tried selecting the "skip installation when application is in use" option in Patch My PC Publisher, but Jabber starts up at logon, so that option didn't work (or I was patient enough).
I don't want to use maintenance windows on the workstations because I can't ensure that they will be turned on at a specific time. The addition of maintenance windows would lower compliance.
Do you have any tips or tricks?
