Hi all,
I'm getting a detection of Microsoft Silverlight 5.1.50918.0.
- Trying uninstall in PMP doesn't help.
- The SW is not listed in Add/Remove Programs.
- The usual suspect directories %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Silverlight and %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Silverlight are non-existant.
- Using the script from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-clean-a-corrupted-silverlight-installation-and-then-reinstall-silverlight-62ff0d0d-a4ac-b732-a00a-239351b8942f (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-clean-a-corrupted-silverlight-installation-and-then-reinstall-silverlight-62ff0d0d-a4ac-b732-a00a-239351b8942f) doesn't help.
- Using a registry cleaner didn't help.
I am at a loss about what I can do to actually remove whatever PMP is detecting. I do realize that I can set ignore, but I would actually prefer a cleaner solution (pun intended).
This probably means that you have another software or game that has the name "Silverlight" in its title! Can you check and let us know if it's true?
Omar,
I did have Microsoft Silverlight on this computer, but I'm pretty sure I have not had any other SW containing that name.
Anywho I've done a search of my whole C:-drive and Explorer did find that string on multiple occasions, either in a filename or contained within a file.
C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\Examples\Helpfile\Extras\Silverlight.png seems to have been the culprit.
I've moved it to another drive and PMP no longer showed Silverlight.
Moved it back where it belongs and it no longer seems to be detected. Will see how it progresses.
A bit crude, that detection on PMP's side, wouldn't you say?
