Title: Notepad++ 7.6.0 (x86)
Post by: wokkeltje on November 25, 2018, 10:30:51 AM
Notepad++ 7.6.0 (x86) is not detected to update in native SCCM Third Party patching when not installed in default location.

x64 version on a different machine and installed in defaul location is detected OK

So I am not sure if it is related to the not default location or if it is related to x86 version

This would cause an issue in our current detection logic since it's based on programfiles. Let us check if there is a value in the registry we can dynamically find the installation path when non-default. What is the path you are installing Norepad++ to?

The path can be found here for x86 version
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Notepad++

Our software is installed on a different drive (D:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++)

thanks in advance

We released a revised update for Notepad++ today to improve detection and add registry based detection so it should detect even if it was installed in the non-default folder.
