Hi,

Well I did a registry search and found specific references to the obsolete progs, even though the files were not installed. When I deleted the reg references via regedit all was well.

So I would suggest that pmpc indicate if the reference is a file or a registry entry at least.

Hi,

When patch my pc detects obsolete software, how do I tell where the items are? I get the red items in the viewer, but I need the path names to determine what to do next.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,

David

Trying to uninstall the obsolete opera gets an error message about stopping curren up to date opera. This suggests the action will affect the current version, not what I want to do.

Re questions.

The files are two references to obsolete instances of opera.

I run pmpc and it reports.

But I can not find where the files are so I can delete them.

This reply does not adress the question posed. Perhaps it was meant for an other question.

Hi,

When patchmypc locates an obsolete file, how do I find out the containing directory?

Thanks,

Hi,

Is there a way to update the definitions file without restarting the program? Can this be automatic every N hours?

Hi,

I would like to see some form of control applied to version number comparison. Thus 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 could be treated as the same (user does not care about minor releases) or they are different releases and should be flagged.

I agree this would not catch all changes but it would help. The default behavior would stay the same as it does today.

Comments?

No screen shot as the problem has now cleared and now it's available. But the issue is why patch is reporting an update when the web site does not show it?

Hi,

Very useful program but it is reporting  Opera Stable 49.0.2725.47  -  49.0.2725.47 which is the latest for windows. Is this enough info, as this is my first post?

Thanks,

Dave
